The role
Van Lanschot Kempen is the leading Dutch private bank with Private Banking as its core and supporting Investment Management and Investment Banking services. With a family heritage and nearly 300 years of experience, the bank employs around 2,000 colleagues worldwide. In Switzerland, the group has a fully licensed Swiss bank for 30 years. It focuses on international wealth management, serving demanding clients with a team of around 45 employees.To strengthen our Finance team in Switzerland, we are looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior Accounting & Reporting Specialist. In this mid-senior role, you will independently manage key accounting and regulatory reporting activities while providing practical operational support across the Finance function. You will also act as deputy to the Head of Finance and contribute to the reliable day-to-day running and continued development of Finance processes.
You will report to the Head of Finance within the Chief Financial Officer division. Your place of work will be Zurich.
Your tasks
- Act as deputy to the Head of Finance and support the day-to-day management of the Finance function
- Independently prepare and deliver Swiss regulatory, financial and statistical reporting, including FINMA, SNB and Group reporting
- Support and coordinate the budgeting, forecasting, controlling, and monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes
- Own and further develop the Bank’s Financial Risk Reporting framework, ensuring timely and meaningful management information
- Take ownership of accounting matters, support reconciliations and general ledger controls, ensuring accurate books and records
- Analyze and resolve accounting, reporting, financial control and operational issues independently
- Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews and Finance-related projects
- Drive improvements in Finance processes, automation, controls, data quality and management reporting
Your profile
- At least five years of hands-on accounting, reporting and controlling experience within a Swiss bank is an absolute requirement. Preferably in a smaller private bank
- Practical experience with Finnova and FIRE is strongly desired
- Proven experience in Swiss banking accounting, financial closing and regulatory reporting, with sound knowledge of FINMA and SNB requirements
- Broad understanding of banking products and operational Finance processes, including reconciliations, treasury and cash management
- Independent, reliable and pragmatic working style, with the ability to take ownership and deputize for the Head of Finance
- Fluent in English; German is a strong advantage, Dutch an additional asset
